Pinched Nerve

Pinched Nerve

A pinched nerve (Nerve Compression) is an irritated, or inflamed nerve which occurs when too much pressure is applied to a nerve by surrounding tissues such as bones, cartilage, muscles or tendons. The pressure may be the result of repetitive motions or even from holding your body in one position for long periods causing disruption in the nerve’s function and severe pain.

Damage caused by a pinched nerve may vary from minor pain or severe problems, in both cases, early diagnosis and early treatment are very important because it might cause neck or low back pain, leg and foot pain, shoulder pain along with pain in elbows, hands, wrists and fingers which may lead to Peripheral neuropathy, Carpal tunnel syndrome and Tennis elbow.

With rest and other conservative treatments, most people recover from a pinched nerve within few days or weeks. However, some cases need more than just rest and chiropractic treatment could help a lot especially when combined with other physical therapies, such as exercises and stretches.
