Hip Pain

Hip Pain

There are various reasons that hip pain occurs. It can be a direct result of a hip based issue such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and tendonitis, or can be referred pain from elsewhere. With referred pain it often manifests in the hip joint when a nerve is pinched in the lumber region of the back. The pain signals travel along the nerve and pain occurs where the nerve passes or ends.

Initial examination will gain a knowledge of your history and ongoing problems, which will lead to a diagnosis. Treatment will often include an X-ray as this can confirm diagnosis and the extent of the problem. Then your Chiropractor can put together a programme of treatment for you. This may contain a combination of interventional therapy such as massage, manipulation with stretching and gentle exercise.
